Our Philosophy

Since the majority of Tanzanians live in rural areas and as 87%, where the majority live in poverty, CODERT has to take a direction which reflects the rural emphasis” so as to respond to the needs and aspirations of the poor. We are convinced that authentic transformation i.e. search for hope by the hopeless and heart broken, underprivileged and poor people and this bringing hope in our rural setting can obviously be realized through active involvement of rural and urban people in their spiritual, social and economic undertakings in other words, CODERT is a about actualizing hope in terms of improved and increased agricultural production, stable livelihood, managing the environment and building social justice.

TANZANIA
The United Republic of Tanzania is in East Africa. It extends over an area of 885, 957sq.km it stretches for the islands of Pemba and Zanzibar in the India Ocean in the Indian Ocean, across the high plateau of eastern Africa, to the Rift valley lakes of Tanganyika and Nyasa. The population of 34 million is concentrated into several regions, mainly along the coast and in fertile pockets near the country’s borders with Kenya and Uganda in the north and with Rwanda, Burundi, Malawi and Zambia in west. The majority indigenous tribes belong to the Bantu stock Most of the people are peasant farmers and pastoralists who live in rural areas people of different races, ethnic groups, and religious affiliations live together peacefully and amicably one of Tanzania’s strongest unifying factors in country’s official language, Kiswahili, which in spoken universally and used at almost all levels of the education system,

CODERT
CODERT is an acronym for Community Development and Relief Trust. CODERT is a registered non Governmental, non – Political, non religious, non-profit making organization. The Organization is registered under the Ministry of Home affairs with ride registration no. SO. 13191.
